PalmSHIELD basks in sunny Los Angeles. PalmSHIELD louvers is proud to have been selected by the City of Los Angeles Water and Power as their mechanical equipment closure. The City of Los Angeles has a tight set of requirements relative to their mechanical equipment louvered systems. Louvered equipment enclosures must meet the 31 pounds per square foot of pressure test.

In addition, the mechanical screen system must be specialty fabricated to meet a unique set of site conditions. Each 6” x 6” square gate post had to have a special plate fabrication due to the limited wall width and loading requirements. PalmSHIELD in house engineering considered the cone effect of both vertical and horizontally placed wedge or pressure anchors. We wanted to assure that the cone effect of anchor did not overlap one another. We also wanted to assure that each anchor was not so close to the edge of the concrete that caused a sprawl effect.
